WarrenWeb Migration
My website started as a personal blog on Wordpress, and has now evolved into a website and blog on the Ghost platform. This provides some background and summarizes the transition.
Personal blog (Doug Warren)
Initially, I started a personal blog in September 2014, and I became involved with Wordpress and the blogger community. Mostly my focus was "sharing life experience and interests" so I simply called it Doug Warren, and just used https://dpw67.wordpress.com as its URL address without a specific domain. Wow, I can't believe that it's been active now for over 10 years!
Wordpress (WarrenWeb)
As my experiences and interests greatly expanded over time, it seemed appropriate to transform it from a blog with some pages into a website (with a blog).
Therefore, with reorganization and enhancements, I changed the name to WarrenWeb since it became much more than just a personal blog, and I obtained a unique domain name (https://warrenweb.net).
At first, the most obvious changes were the menu, structure, and organization; the sidebar initially evolved as changes were implemented, but seemed redundant on the new website.
I created a new Home for website pages, updated major sections for PKM, Technology, and Interests, along with my blog posts. My efforts include areas for Music, Photos, Travel, Writing, Health, and Genealogy.
Ghost (WarrenWeb)
Over the past several years, I became very busy working on my personal knowledge management (PKM) system using Obsidian, as well as development efforts with Swift technologies on Apple platforms.
I have learned so much and discovered more. That has generated many new ideas, which I have organized and would like to share more broadly to benefit others.
So now I'm migrating my website (and blog) from Wordpress to the Ghost publishing platform as I develop it further.
To ensure a smooth transition, the Ghost website is now a subdomain with the blog prefix as https://blog.warrenweb.net in my current Wordpress site domain with links back to existing content.
