Drafts - Workspaces

Drafts provides workspaces that you can use to customize view layout and settings.

A Pro subscription allows you to create multiple workspaces beyond the Default workspace.

This allows you to create saved views based on keyboard searches, tags, and more.

Default workspace

My Default workspace has these settings, which you can view or customize from Workspaces > Manage Workspaces… in the Drafts app menu bar (or down caret in circle icon above the Draft List).

Initially, Drafts includes these options for previews in the draft list.

  • Body preview
  • Search preview
  • Tags
  • Last action
  • Date

However, I unchecked all of them so that I just have a simple list with just the draft title.

All folders are sorted by modified date in descending order. I include flagged drafts for Inbox and Archive, and I sort flagged on top for Inbox, Archive, and Trash.

Obsidian Action Group

I create an Obsidian Action Group, which includes frequent Markdown editing and my Add to Obsidian action.

I load my Obsidian action group for my Default workspace, and load it as my editor action bar.

If you have a Pro subscription, you might define an Obsidian workspace with these settings, and possibly other workspaces like Today. And you even show them in a Workspace Bar at the bottom of the Draft List for quick access.

You can also change the workspace settings and chose Save as Default using the ellipse (…) icon above the Draft List. You might experiment with these to determine which settings you prefer; however, this does not allow you to assign an action group to load.
