Drafts - File Actions
An Obsidian vault is just a folder with a collection of Markdown text files. Since Drafts can read, write, and update files, it can add files directly to your Obsidian vault without launching the app. Your Obsidian vault folder must be in a location accessible to Drafts.
A Drafts bookmark is a reference to a folder in the file system. Bookmarks allow you to grant permissions to folders outside Drafts’ sandbox so that actions can work with files in those alternate destinations using the File action step and scripting.
This is how I create Obsidian notes with the Add to Obsidian action, since this does not even need to have the Obsidian app active and doesn’t access it directly since it’s just using the file system. This really streamlines creating Obsidian notes from iOS devices because it doesn’t need to initialize Obsidian mobile, which can take a while to load all the configuration files when launched.
