Daily Startup

My Daily Startup shortcut runs automatically every day at 6 AM. It creates all periodic notes and associated files for each period based on the date.

First, it creates the Daily Note for today using a Day note template with scripts that generate its properties, title, and period navigation using Templater.

Periodic Linked Notes

Every periodic note has common sections for Plan, Review, Log, Health, Journal, and Actions with their corresponding linked notes. This allows Periodic Notes to have a consistent structure with a simple organization and details in related notes. All these periodic notes are created in a dated folder for each period using Actions for Obsidian.

Health Notes

Since I have type 1 diabetes, I also create several additional notes to help me manage my diabetes: Meals, Log, Journal, and Summary. These are created from several shortcuts that are run in my Create Day Health Logs shortcut.

Horizon Notes

Besides the Daily Note for today (and tomorrow), other periodic notes for future time horizons are created based on the date. This creates these horizon notes—Week: every Monday; Month: first of each month; Quarter: first of Jan, Apr, Jul, and Oct; Year: Jan 1; and Decade: Jan 1 when year ends with zero.
