Pact: I will Write Entries in my Curiosity Log for 5 Days
Observation
I have not had a consistent practice to capture events, thoughts, questions, and actions throughout each day, that I review every week.
Over the past few days, I have captured field notes to help me identify potential tiny experiments and identify a hypothesis about what could be different.
This process was very helpful, but extremely detailed. It surfaced many possible items, but it became very clear that I must focus on just one thing.
Hypothesis
Recording what I'm actually doing throughout the day, along with my thoughts and feelings, will help me evaluate my routines and activities and recognize patterns and insights to help me improve and grow.
I will primarily focus on capturing brief entries during breaks between various activities that will allow me to capture what I did, along with related status, thoughts, questions, and actions for later follow-up during day and week reviews.
Data collection
I will test my hypothesis when I do my week review of my Curiosity Log entries. This will help me determine whether this experiment is worthwhile, and suggest additional insights for improvements.
During this initial experiment, I will not use my Capture shortcut that helps automate quick logging that I'm developing because I don't want to focus on the content of my logs rather than the process that creates them in a consistent structured format that include tags and/or metadata fields. I will simply write directly in my Curiosity Log note in Obsidian.
Data analysis
Initially, I can count the number of log entries each day, including a breakdown by time period (overnight, morning, afternoon, evening). Also, it might be interesting to identify events, thoughts, questions, and actions to get perspective on the types of entries. Also, I will record the results of this experiment in my Curiosity Log from my Week Review.
